One week ago today, my family and I suffered a great loss. Our beloved, Scrappy, just 13 weeks old, succumbed to the often fatal illness named Parvovirus. Although this is a highly common illness among canine pups, I couldn’t help but wonder if I could have done more to help Scrappy live a long healthy life. I questioned if I was a good steward over this gift given to me by God. Yes, I loved Scrappy dearly but did I do everything for him that a caretaker should do? My husband and I both shed a tear for little Scrappy, not only because we’re going to miss him, but also because we feel as though we failed him. Given a second opportunity, we would definitely do things differently. Without a doubt, we would be the good stewards that God has called us to be.
In honor to God, and as a tribute to little Scrappy, we endeavor to be good stewards over each and every blessing entrusted to us. In doing this no wonder, guilt, nor blame shall ever enter our thoughts. I challenge you to do the same.
His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.’ Matthew 25:21 (NKJV)
