1 Corinthians 2:1-5
When I came to brothers, I did not come with eloquence or superior wisdom as I proclaimed to you the testimony about God. For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and him crucified, I came to you in weakness and fear, and with much trembling. My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit’s power, so that your faith might not rest on men’s wisdom, but on God’s power.
Let’s us Pray:
People fear public speaking, and I don’t blame them, Lord. There seems to be nothing worse than fumbling through words while the eyes of many people focus on me. I need to think about my status as a humble messenger in life. You can speak through my words and my actions if I give myself over to You. I will accept this role of messenger and present what I need to say in my human, imperfect way, because my weakness magnifies Your greatness. My humanity allows Your divinity to shine forth.
In Jesus Name
Amen
