1 Timothy 3:4-5
He must manage his own family well and see that his children obey him with proper respect. (If anyone does not know how to manage his own family, how can he take care of God’s church?)
Let us Pray:
God, the family unit is my measure of true success. How I am doing within and for my family directly relates to how successful I am in other areas. If I power my way through the business world, yet do not have the respect of my children, I am not a man of stature but am a failure. God, forgive me if I am ever tempted to choose worldly success over the well-being of my family.
I pray for my friends who struggle with their home life. It gives them an even sharper, more desperate edge in the workplace. But the efforts of their hands and minds become a house of cards instead of a substantial offering of stone.
Lord, encourage me and my friends to put first things first and manage our homes in a way that is pleasing to You.
