Our Faith That Overcomes The World
How is it that we as believers have faith in God and have not overcome the world in our experience? Again, how is it that so much teaching on faith fills the air, but so much sickness, disease and oppression fills the lives of believers? The answer in part lies in the fact, that there is a significant difference between our Faith in Focus and Focused Faith! Much of the teaching on faith is, “…he that cometh to God must believe that he is…” Hebrews 11:6a, celebrating our faith as it is in the person of God. But in order to overcome the world in our experience, we must believe “…that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him” Hebrews 11:6b.
Jesus said, “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive” Matthew 21:22. Is there any doubt that this statement includes, receiving healing from any sickness or disease; or deliverance from any demonic influence? It actually includes “all things whatsoever” in this world.
It is quite easy to have our faith in focus when it comes to the “all things” but not so easy to focus our faith when it comes to the “whatsoever”. The “all things” is on God to supply, but the “whatsoever” is on you and me to apply.
Asking in prayer, believing, is the taking of our faith in God and applying it to the whatsoever, and assuming the attitude of being “of good cheer; I have overcome the world” John 16:33b. Anything less than that does not measure up to “Our Faith that Overcomes the World!
