Many of us have habits, some good and some bad. May I propose that you consider developing a new habit? Try this: In spite of what is happening in your life, try saying, “I trust You, Lord,” and while doing so, think about who
God is in all His power and glory, and focus on the depth and breadth of His love for you. This simple practice will allow you to see God in every situation you encounter, and recognize His sovereign reign over the universe.
When you look at things from this perspective, fear loses its grip on you! As you continue to affirm your trust in God, your circumstances become opportunities for growth. You realize your blessings flow directly from God, and
your continual declaration of trusting Him will strengthen your relationship and keep you close to Him.
1 The Lord is my light and the one who saves me. So why should I fear anyone? The Lord protects my life. So why should I be afraid? 2 Evil people may try to destroy my body. My enemies and those who hate me attack me, but they are overwhelmed and defeated. 3 If an army surrounds me, I will not be afraid. If war breaks out, I will trust the Lord. Psalm 27:1-3 (NCV)
