My grandson visited a carnival recently and told me about a game he played that allowed him to win a huge stuffed animal. The object of the game was to hit the bull’s-eye of a target with a ball as often as you could. He said “Grandma, at first I kept missing the mark, but I didn’t quit. I played again and again until
I hit it every time.”
I thought, “What a profound concept!” If only we could apply this same philosophy to our quest to live righteous lives. We just may fall short. Yes, we may “miss the mark,” but the key is to not quit, not give up. We are to dust ourselves off and try it again.
We must not become tired of doing good. We will receive our harvest of eternal life at the right time if we do not give up.
