Years ago, someone spoke a revelation into my life. They said, “Do you realize you may be the only Jesus people see!” I was inclined to ponder on this because it is extremely important to me that I live a life that is good and acceptable before God. Knowing that I am an ambassador for Christ, His representative, I must reflect the “official position” of heaven. My identity in Christ is to be recognizable to myself and to others. People should not see me, but “the God in me,” as His presence is made evident in all I say and do.
I humbly accept the role and charge I’m given. I proudly proclaim “I am an ambassador for Christ,”sent to reflect the official position of the Sovereign God who has given me this authority; approved by God to be entrusted with the gospel. You too, may be the only Jesus people see. How well will you represent?
Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new. 18 Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation, 19 that is, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word of reconciliation.20 Now then, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were pleading through us: we implore you on Christ’s behalf, be reconciled to God.
