New Times, New Mind
Not very long ago my heart grieved as I learned of a respected Christian leader who had fallen into a life of sin. He obviously did not intend to do so, but when the temptation came, he yielded. As a result, his wife, his family, his friends, and fellow believers suffered heartache. What’s more tragic is his testimony and witness for the Lord Jesus has suffered indescribable damage. Many people mocked and rejected the cause of Christ because of this man’s sin.
God’s will is for us is to live a holy life. The enemy’s entire mission is to entrap us in sin and defeat. One of his methods is to tempt us by infiltrating our minds and corrupting our thoughts. He reminds us of our sinful past but, glory to God, we no longer live in the past! We walk in newness. We have a new strut, right along with a new attitude.
I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God.
