Meditation: 1 John 4: 15-17
God, you have only one expectation of me – to love. It is so simple, and yet so difficult to do. To get around it, I replace your single expectation with many of my own – to succeed, to be accepted, to look good, to be in control. God, forgive my complicated, self-centered expectations. Rarely do they bring joy or peace – they just beg for more.
Grant me the humility to ask only one thing each day, “Lord, how can I love You and others today?”
