In 2001, God charged me with taking the Love (Agape) Walk, not the worlds love back into the Christian Community because we seem to have gotten away from it. It is not manifesting through our life styles or our daily teaching like it should be. Put a Christian next to a secular worldly person and sometimes you see no difference. If God is Love and Christ is God and scripture tells us to be Christ like, then the Mark of the Christian should be Love.
Here is my story, about 3 weeks after this charge I believe the test from God was on. Right before our Friday early evening Gathering Service I received a phone call saying my 16 year old son Ethan, was at the hospital in the emergency room due to a confrontation between him and an older student at the school in the football locker room.
As I immediately headed out and enter onto the freeway zipping in and out of traffic, driving during rush hour my mind was running fast and a little crazy. Thank God for the Serenity Prayer. “God grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference, Thy will not mine be done.”
With this prayer and my relationship with the Holy Spirit that dwells in me, I received the comfort from the comforter and the power from him to know everything was going to be all right. But I must say flesh kept creeping in here and there within my mind.
As I exited the freeway, with a conversation going on between the Holy Spirit and me, I could feel the wisdom and power coming from the Holy Spirit and into my spirit and the instructions on what to do and say. As I entered the emergency room, I was told how my son’s teeth were knocked to the back of his mouth from the blow of the other boy and he was to have emergency surgery that evening. There was only one thing for us to do. Pray. I remember telling my son “I guess I have to walk the way I talk “and we prayed for the young man who did this to my son. There were no hard feelings and we were very sincere in our action, and we sang a hymn
Thank you Jesus, thank you Jesus. This was the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and the love walk of Jesus Christ in action, not Kevin or Ethan. I know that the Father was pleased. My son’s surgery went well and Ethan and the young man ended up playing together on the football team that next year.
And that was the beginning of the love walk mission. Our mission is to assist the traditional Pastors with sharing the love walk of Jesus Christ in the Christian Community, powered by Holy Spirit , implemented with a spiritual maintenance plan to establish, enhance and live having a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and Holy Spirit.
So what authority authorizes this mission pastor Kevin? Well John 13:34-35 says, “ A new command I give you: Love one another.” As I have loved you, so you must love one another.” By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” But Pastor can you explain this kind of love? Umm, I will try.
We are talking about the agape love which is unconditional love like Jesus demonstrated. Not the love of the world where you love me if I love you and if you don’t love me than I stop loving you.
1 Corinthians 13:4-8(a) says “Love is patient, loves is kind, it does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes always perseveres. Love never fails.
This is just some of the traits of a Jesus love walker. A little insight: You can’t fulfill this without the empowerment of the Holy Spirit and no power without a daily relationship with the Holy Spirit.
So Family and friends, as you journey with us in Living the Love Walk, may we all continue to live in peace and harmony with each other. Soldiers equipped and living spiritually. Become a part of the Love Walkers, for more information call (714)656-8782
