Think on These Things
The word of God says as a man thinks within himself, so is he. What this means is those things which we conjure up in our minds, transmits to our hearts, and eventually flows from our mouth. And because life and death are in the power of the tongue, it is imperative that we are mindful of not just what we blurt out, but also what we take in. For example things like negative conversation, worldly music, and profanity just to name a few. How do we conquer this? We conquer this by being God-conscious, having the mind of Christ; by reading, learning, and living the word of God. After all, we are what we think!
“You have minds like a snake pit! How do you suppose what you say is worth anything when you are so foul-minded? It’s your heart, not the dictionary, that gives meaning to your words. A good person produces good deeds and words season after season. An evil person is a blight on the orchard. Let me tell you something: Every one of these careless words is going to come back to haunt you. There will be a time of Reckoning. Words are powerful; take them seriously. Words can be your salvation. Words can also be your damnation.”
