Inspiration From Within: The Compliment

Fairly recently, I was paid a lovely compliment by a childhood friend of mine. The compliment was immediately followed by an apology, assuming the statement was perceived as flirtatious in nature. This was far from the truth. I assured my dear friend that there was no harm done and I totally appreciated receiving the compliment, particularly at that exact time.

You see, his timing was perfect. My heart was heavy and I was waiting to hear from God about a situation that had been troubling me. And just when the enemy thought he had a grip on me God reminded me, through the voice of my friend, how precious I am and how He never takes His eyes off of me. I’m thankful that my friend took the risk of paying me that compliment. It’s confirmation that God uses whomever He chooses to fulfill His perfect will.

16 “Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves. Therefore be wise as serpents and harmless as doves. 19 But when they deliver you up, do not worry about how or what you should speak. For it will be given to you in that hour what you should speak; 20 for it is not you who speak, but the Spirit of your Father who speaks in you.

Matthew 10:16, 19-20 (NKJV)
