I was looking at the “Living the LoveWalk with a Spiritual Maintenance Plan” teaching series that we are talking throughout the Christian churches and it dawned on me that if the mark of a Christian is love, and that is who we are trying to be, then our character should be love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. We should not boast, be envious, be proud, rude or self-seeking and not easily angered. Keep mo record of wrongs, we don’t not delight in evil, but rejoice with the truth. We should always protect, trust, hope and persevere. Wow, what an order I can’t go thru with this Pastor!!
And you are absolutely right. You can’t on your own, and that is why you need the Holy Spirit active in your life. I mean, a real personal relationship with him (See John 14:15-27 and 16:12-16)
Now lets look at our personality, which I believe is the outward appearance of our character. So, if I am always grouchy, man, anti-social, no smile on my face, always frowning, not looking cheerful, snapping at people, angry, etc., then I am a true representative of a a Christian? Or just going through the motions. But Pastor Jesus got angry and tore up the temple and then went off on the people. Yes, and sometimes the world will take you there (LOL). But that is not Hi personality or everyday demeanor, and definitely not in Jesus’s character.
So, ask yourself, “Who am I”????
Homework: Read your Bible, Colossians 3:12-14 and Ephesians 5:1-2 and 19-21
